Zach Johnson Wins the Open Championshion to Claim His Second Major Title

Zach Johnson claimed his second major championship win today after a three man playoff with South Africa's Louis Osthuizen and Australia's Marc Leishman.  Johnson's win by one stroke came after a four hole playoff under relatively benign weather at St. Andrews' Old Course.

This win will not only boost Johnson in the world golf rankings but also bodes very well for both his FedEx Cup chances and the US Team's strength in the President's Cup in South Korea. America's Johnson and Speith has now won three of the first four majors championships for 2015. Will the US make it "four for four" with a win at the upcoming PGA Championship in early August? Send us your predictions here at the Pro Golf Tour.

Jordan Speith Comes Up One Stroke Short of the Open Championship Playoff

Jordan Speith shot a final round -3 under par to finish tied with Australia's Jason Day at the Open Championship at -14 one stroke behind Zach Johnson, Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman at -15 under par who moved into a three man playoff. While Speith's dream of a 2015 Grand Slam may have come to an end yet his place at #2 in the world golf rankings is secure and the PGA Championship is just 3 weeks away. Speith also continues to hold a commanding lead in the FedEx Cup rankings as the post-season playoffs draws near.

As for the Grand Slam, there are surely many great years ahead for the young Texan who turns just 22 years old next week. And even if an "annual" Grand Slam is not in his future, a "career" Grand Slam seems easily within reach. Let us know your comments on young Jordan here at the Pro Golf Tour.

Dustin Johnson Lead the Open Championship After the 2nd Round By One Stroke

Open Championship - 3rd Round: Dustin Johnson (-10 under par) leads England's Danny Willett by one stroke after two rounds. Jay Day, Adam Scott and Louis Oosthuizen are all at -7. Jordan Spieth trails the pack at -5 under par. The likelihood of a Spieth Grand Slam in 2015 are seriously in doubt. It would take an heroic effort by Spieth on Sunday to pull out a win. Let us know your winner's pick after 2 rounds here at the Pro Golf Tour.

Should Tiger Woods Play in the Greenbrier Classic?

PGA: Tiger Woods needs as much professional tournament golf as possible to prepare himself for the Open Championship in two weeks. Our view is that yes, he should definitely play at the Greenbrier Classic this week as well as the Scottish Open next week.

There is simply too much at stake for him not to play in these tournaments regardless of what he has done in the past. Send us your thoughts here at the Pro Golf Tour. Lawrence Wilson
