Rory McIlroy Set to Defend His PGA Championship

The stage is set for this week's PGA Championship, the year's final major tournament, for Rory McIlroy to defend his PGA Championship and retain the world's #1 ranking at Whistling Straits. McIlroy's World Golf Ranking lead over Jordan Spieth has been eroded over the last month due to his absence from tour play.

A win by Jordan Spieth this week would vault the young 22 year old into the world's #1 ranked pro golfer position. While McIlroy is the defending PGA Champion, reports indicate that the Whistling Straits course may favor Spieth. And then their are questions about McIlroy's ankle injury and how the hilly course might affect his play. Stay tuned to the Pro Golf Tour for breaking news.
